Femininity is the key to dressing up this summer. The inspiration for the start of the season being summer picnics, garden parties and country weddings – all very prim and proper, then for later in the summer the look goes towards strong impressionistic floral patterns made as though painted by hand. Pretty dresses with little cardigans and floral skirts with frilled blouses can be seen everywhere. Even the accessory designers have jumped on the 'floral' bandwagon and necklaces, earrings, hairclips and headbands can be found with great intricate floral designs, carvings and adornments.
For a summer get away, put a floral holiday wardrobe together by harmonising with a few plain but toning pieces – cardigans, shrugs and print scarves not forgetting to pack a good selection of costume jewellery and hair accessories to change the look.
